Baptism
To schedule your baby's baptism, please reach out to Nancy Stoehr in the main office at records@shjhartwell.org. Kindly contact her at least one month in advance of your desired baptism date to allow sufficient time for preparation and any necessary arrangements.
Becoming Catholic OCIA/RICA
The O.C.I.A., or Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process for becoming a Catholic.
R.I.C.A., is the acronym used for the Spanish version. Which stands for “Ritual de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos”.
This process is for those who:
Have not been baptized.
Were baptized in another Christian tradition.
Those that have been baptized, but would like to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and/or Confirmation.
Classes run at the same time on Sunday mornings from 10:30 am-12:00 pm, September through April.
For further questions, please contact Deacon Barry Phillips at 706-376-4112 or deacon@shjhartwell.org.
Weddings
If you would like to learn more about the preparation process for the Sacrament of Marriage, please contact Nancy Stoehr at records@shjhartwell.org. Marriage preparation typically takes between 6 to 12 months and includes important steps such as meetings with clergy, pre-marital counseling, and participation in marriage preparation programs. Reaching out early ensures ample time for planning and completing all requirements.
